Distinguishing metal from nu .

The trick to what makes a song fit in the metal or numetal genre is how Metal is influenced or mixed with its counterpart musical style(s).

Nu Metal is a fusion of existing genre’s of music and metal.

But what constitutes metal? ..

a unique metal subgenre only occurs when Metal is mixed with a Fresh, never before experienced style of music..

For example.. When Korn rebranded it’s style with skrillex dubstep.. It was still Numetal… although it was very fresh to the music scene.. Dubstep existed prior..

As for metal, the added style or genre hasn’t been previously conceived yet. Thrash metal was completely a unique form of metal music. One could argue Thrash metal was harder to create than NuMetal.. This may be true.. However.. The execution is the victor in my opinion.
